![]() The workflow is different from most modern DAWs, but very quick and powerful once you get into 'tracker' mode. This post is pretty old now, but I'll say I've been using Renoise for several years now, and it's been fantastic. ![]() the way you can drop lfos and stuff onto a track is so easy and seamless. it is heads above a lot of things for modulation of plug ins too. always just jam w/it because it's so much fun for that. didn't know that you can record external audio into renoise for mixing etc. Since it really costs pennies compared to other DAWs I suggest you give it a try ![]() Of course, someone else might find it quite non-intuitive, it really depends on what music you want to do- it certainly won't "warp" your tracks together, but you can cut everything and glue it in perfect sync because you have all the timing information written for you on screen. And YES, you can record audio to renoise from hardware synths.Īctually, one of the best things about renoise for me is that it's so good at putting together a song that is based on both external audio AND a piano roll. I work in Renoise exclusively now and it sure as hell can be a full on DAW, you just need to get used to a different workflow from the "usual" one. but it's totally capable of sequencing external gear and may be easier to get going than w/cakewalk or cubase or DP etc. usually i just dump a bunch of audio into it and go from there. i've never used live for sequencing external gear. which is more spendy and comes w/all kinds of instruments that are mostly good but since you're all hardware you may not use them. i don't really enjoy mixing in it but it's a really easy program to learn and does a lot and w/Max for Live you can add all kinds of really great features. i like live for editing and sometimes record into it. the audio editing is fantastic as is midi support and if you spend time learning it there's really nothing you can't do and as a bonus you get cross platform support. you can do a ton with it and it's quite innovative but i've never recorded audio form hardware synths into and i don't even know if that's possible but i've seen it FS used on KVR for $40 so kind of a no brainer if you want to really jam with somethingĭP is windows friendly as of DP8 and though it's different to many DAWs in that it's kind of right brained. but it is really awesome and a great work flow once you get used to it. Renoise is great but isn't gonna be a full on DAW for recording/mixing. If you are all hardware and need good midi/audio recording then i'd look at MOTU DP, Live, cakewalk, cubase

Where the security perimeter of the enterprise was once defined by the location of the data center, it is now also defined by the location of employees and their devices and the ever-expanding network edge. The UTM market has evolved due to network expansion and mobility. Some even predict it will all head to the cloud with Secure Service Edge/Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions.Īlso read: Best Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) Vendors UTM Evolves with Network Security Who knows how this market will eventually unfold. There are even further acronyms being thrown around such as unified endpoint management (UEM) and unified endpoint management and security (UEMS). Starting in 2019, Gartner consolidated its Magic Quadrants for Unified Threat Management (UTM) and Enterprise Firewalls into a single Magic Quadrant called Network Firewalls. Some vendors have ditched the UTM label and prefer to call their tools next-generation firewalls (NGFW). However, the UTM market has been evolving over the past few years. In addition to standard firewalls, features in UTMs often include intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS), secure web gateways, secure email gateways, remote access, routing and WAN connectivity. Web filtering is critical as a service for tracking productivity and corporate user behavior.Unified threat management (UTM) offers something approaching total security in a box for small and midsize enterprises (SMEs), combining multiple network security functions in a single appliance. Web Filtering – Provides URL filtering capability by using either a local Websense server or Internet-based SurfControl server.Content filtering does not require a separate license. You can also use the content filter module to block ActiveX, Java Applets, and other types of content. Content filtering filters traffic based on MIME type, file extension, and protocol commands. Content Filtering – Provides basic data loss prevention functionality.By using Juniper Advanced Threat Prevention (ATP), you can combine traditional signature-based detection with latest anti-malware technologies to detect threats and mitigate them. Anti-virus – Uses a scanning engine and virus signature databases to protect against virus-infected files, worms, trojans, spyware, and other malware over POP3 HTTP, SMTP, IMAP, and FTP protocols.Antispam filtering allows you to use both a third-party server-based spam block list (SBL) and to optionally create your own local whitelists and blacklists for filtering against e-mail messages. ![]() ![]() This is due in part to it being a more powerful machine than DYMO’s line of 450 printer models. It costs about $100 more than the basic DYMO 450 and about $25 more than the DYMO 450 Twin Turbo. Suitable for both self-adhesive paper labels and traditional plastic tape labels, the Dymo LabelWriter 450 Duo is a versatile label printer for any business. The Dymo LabelWriter 450 DUO is very unique for a Label Printer because it uses two totally different label systems. This is due in large part to the specific labels it requires. It doesn’t require calibration and prints perfectly each time. Order Dymo LabelWriter 450 Duo Desktop Label Printer (1752267) today at and get fast shipping. It’s the easiest to use straight out of the box regardless of if you use a Mac or PC. The Dymo Label Writer 4XL is probably the most widely thermal label printer for 4” x 6” labels. What Should I Get Instead of the Dymo 450? DYMO Label Writer 4XL These labels can break down to $0.01-$0.02 apiece. Some models, like the Rollo thermal printer, TSC’s DA2000, and higher-end printers like Zebra allow for fan-fold labels. You may also end up with a warehouse full of labels you can’t use. If it’s not there, your labels will not print correctly. DYMO would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused and offer this step-by-step guide including the most common solutions. This is related to the recent Windows 10 software update (KB5015807). DYMO requires a perforation between each label to distinguish where each label ends and begins. We are aware of a tape compartment issue affecting the DYMO LabelWriter 450 Duo. If you do end up getting a DYMO 4XL, be sure you buy the correct label. Label rolls typically end up having a comparable $0.10-$0.15 cent per label cost. The only added cost with a thermal label printer is the labels. It is a precise way of thermal printing time and time again without the need for buying new ink or ribbons. Thermal heat transfer is a direct thermal printing technology. So, it may end up being worth it to upgrade to a thermal label printer. Of course, you have to also buy new ribbons and ink cartridges over time. If you use an inkjet printer, you can use integrated labels and for anywhere between $0.10 to $0.15 a label, you can print your labels with an adhesive back and place them on the parcel. If you need a way to print your 4” x 6” labels and an inkjet printer is all you have other than a 450 series DYMO, you may wonder if it’s worth the upgrade. Should I Just Use an Inkjet Printer or Get a 4” x 6” Thermal Printer? So, you only need to find a DYMO LabelWriter printer that accommodates to the narrower dimension for your labels. NOTE: Label printers generally print in portrait orientation. They are able to print 2” labels just as easily as they do 4” wide labels. What’s more, you’re not limited to printing 4” x 6” labels with these larger printers. If you plan on printing labels for these carriers and moving beyond just printing stamps and address labels, you will want to upgrade your DYMO printer. Why Should I Get a Printer that Prints 4” x 6” Labels?Ĥ” x 6” labels are the standard-sized shipping label for major carriers like UPS, FedEx, USPS, and DHL Express. ![]() Since we only support 4” x 6” labels from our carrier partners, we can only advise or offer support for the DYMO 4XL. ShipStation does not support the DYMO Label Writer 450, DYMO Label Writer 450 Turbo, DYMO Label Writer 450 Twin Turbo, or the DYMO Label Writer 450 Duo. For printing 4” x 6” labels, you would need to use the DYMO Label Writer 4XL, as its XL support comes from its ability to print “extra-large” 4-inch wide labels. The reason behind this is simple: The DYMO Labelwriter 450 doesn’t have the ability support 4” x 6” labels. These printers are used and approved by all major shipping companies and postage softwares, including: UPS, FEDEX, DHL, USPS,, and Endicia.Įach order includes: 1 Hour of Phone Support and LogMeIn Rescue Installation Support. While the DYMO Label Writer 450 is a great printer that can print name tags, stamps, and address labels it WILL NOT print 4” x 6” labels. Connects to USB port and prints up to 71 labels per minute! Choose labels for envelopes, packages, files & folders, even internet postage. This printer comes with easy to use DYMO Label Software, integrates directly with Microsoft Word, Outlook, the Palm Desktop, GoldMine, ACT, CardScan and TeleMagic, and works with all other software through standard print drivers. You can also print colorful plastic labels using the LabelWriter Duo – up to 1″ in width. Handles more than 40 standard thermal label sizes, including address, Internet postage, shipping, file folder, disk, video, name badge, cassette, ZIP disk, and many more. The Dymo LabelWriter 450 Duo Label Printer is the smallest, fastest, most versatile label printer for any office. ![]() Thomson found out that the charge to mass ratio was so large that the particles either carried a huge charge, or were a thousand times smaller than a hydrogen ion. They were too small to have their mass or charge calculated directly, but he attempted to deduce this from how much the particles were bent by electrical currents, of varying strengths. He decided to try to work out the nature of the particles. Many great scientific discoveries involve performing a series of interconnected experiments, gradually accumulating data and proving a hypothesis. The third experiment was a brilliant piece of scientific deduction and shows how a series of experiments can gradually uncover truths. This result was a major discovery in itself, but Thomson resolved to understand more about the nature of these particles. Halfway down the tube were two electric plates, producing a positive anode and a negative cathode, which he hoped would deflect the rays.Īs he expected, the rays were deflected by the electric charge, proving beyond doubt that the rays were made up of charged particles carrying a negative charge. To prove this hypothesis, he attempted to deflect them with an electric field.Įarlier experiments had failed to back this up, but Thomson thought that the vacuum in the tube was not good enough, and found ways to improve greatly the quality.įor this, he constructed a slightly different cathode ray tube, with a fluorescent coating at one end and a near perfect vacuum. Like all great scientists, he did not stop there, and developed the second stage of the experiment, to prove that the rays carried a negative charge. This proved that the negative charge and the ray were inseparable and intertwined. He found that by applying a magnetic field across the tube, there was no activity recorded by the electrometers and so the charge had been bent away by the magnet. This cylinder had two slits in it, leading to electrometers, which could measure small electric charges. His first experiment was to build a cathode ray tube with a metal cylinder on the end. Thomson had an inkling that the ‘rays’ emitted from the electron gun were inseparable from the latent charge, and decided to try and prove this by using a magnetic field. ![]() Thomson constructed some elegant experiments to find a definitive and comprehensive answer about the nature of cathode rays. They debated whether the rays were waves or particles, as they seemed to exhibit some of the properties of both. Physicists knew that the ray carried a negative charge but were not sure whether the charge could be separated from the ray. ![]() ![]() However, other researchers, notably Crookes, argued that the focused nature of the beam meant that they had to be particles. With more experimentation, researchers found that the ‘cathode rays’ emitted from the cathode could not move around solid objects and so traveled in straight lines, a property of waves. William Crookes discovered that a tube coated in a fluorescing material at the positive end, would produce a focused ‘dot’ when rays from the electron gun hit it. Later and improved cathode ray experiments found that certain types of glass produced a fluorescent glow at the positive end of the tube. This cathode ray also became known as an ‘electron gun’. Physicists in the 19th century found out that if they constructed a glass tube with wires inserted in both ends, and pumped out as much of the air as they could, an electric charge passed across the tube from the wires would create a fluorescent glow. Look at any glowing neon sign or any ‘old-fashioned’ television set, and you are looking at the modern descendants of the cathode ray tube. Even without consciously realizing it, most of us are already aware of what a cathode ray tube is. ![]() Generally, Green-Lipped Mussel should not have any side effects, though some stomach discomfort has occasionally been reported. It is not clear how much of each ingredient makes up the 300mg daily serving and how these ingredients relate to each other. Omega XL is made up of a proprietary blend of Green-Lipped Mussel oil, olive oil and vitamin E. It provides a low daily serving and is lacking many details about its formulation. The majority of studies found that it was no better than a placebo for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.īottom Line: We are not sure if Omega XL will get you the results that you are looking for. It seems to offer benefits when combined with other pain medications, which most people are looking to avoid when taking a nutritional health supplement. In our own research, we found conflicting evidence to the benefits of Green-Lipped Mussel for joint pain. The manufacturer’s site also mentions a clinical study about the benefits of Green-Lipped Mussel for joint pain, yet provides no links to this study. Surprisingly, the manufacturer does not delve into the finer details of its formula on its website, and we had to hunt down the product label on Amazon. We are very apprehensive of celebrity endorsements for health supplements, which this product has, as we believe that a product’s merit should be based on its formula. Customer reviews seem to add to this concern with many stating that this product does not work. The problem with proprietary blends is that usually the ingredients you are looking to get the benefits of are watered down to the point of not providing much benefit at all. It provides a very low dosage of only 300mg per 2 capsules, and it is not clear how much of this blend is the Green-Lipped Mussel oil which provides the omega-3s. Omega XL contains a proprietary blend of Green-Lipped Mussel oil, extra virgin olive oil and vitamin E. When looking at an omega-3 supplement, its formula and dosage are the most important for effective results. While this type of shellfish is a popular source of omega-3 fatty acids, what is found in this product leaves a lot to be desired. Omega XL claims to contain over 30 omega-3 fatty acids derived from the Green-Lipped Mussel which is native to New Zealand. Its low daily serving, lack of transparency, as well as the fact that we found many negative reviews made us slightly wary as to whether this works well or not. Overall, this product does have some positive points but there are certain elements which raised some red flags for us. Omega XL didn't quite make the cut for our #1 spot for various reasons. ![]() Indeed, they are the natural C# equivalent of the abstract concepts. Concepts and C# Interface: Natural Friends At first, without templates, the genericity of the library is seriously compromised. So class templates, function templates and partial template specialization could not be used. This is, for sure, the biggest issue: C# does not support templates. Here below, some major points about porting the BGL to C# are discussed. QuickGraphLibrary has been highly influenced by the BGL implementation and, indeed, a large part of the concept and structure of the library is directly taken from the BGL. Introduction taken from the BGL introduction page. We believe that the main contribution of the BGL is the formulation of this interface." BGL provides some general purpose graph classes that conform to this interface, but they are not meant to be the "only" graph classes there certainly will be other graph classes better for certain situations. ![]() This is an "open" interface in the sense that any graph library that implements this interface will be interoperable with the BGL generic algorithms and with other algorithms that also use this interface. Part of the Boost Graph Library is an interface for how the structure of a graph can be accessed using a generic interface that hides the details of the graph data structure implementation. A standardized generic interface for traversing graphs is of utmost importance to encourage reuse of graph algorithms and data structures. Consequently, these abstractions must also be represented in computer programs. The BoostGraphLibrary is a C++ generic graph library that introduces itself as such: "Graphs are mathematical abstractions that are useful for solving many types of problems in computer science. This section discusses aspects about the porting from C++ to C# of the BoostGraphLibrary. indegree(v) denotes the number of incoming edges of v and outdegree(u), the number of outgoing edges of u. If e=(u,v), then e is an outgoing edge of u and an incoming edge of v. This is a quick remainder about graph theory:Ī directed graph G=(V圎) consists of a finite set V=V(G) of vertices and a finite multi-set E contained in VxV = of edges that are ordered pair of vertices. The library provides the basic data structure to represent vertices, edges and graphs, and also provides generic implementation of various graph algorithms such as the depth-first-search, the Dijkstra shortest path, etc.Īs the library comes with a full NDoc reference manual, this article will not enter into deep coding details. Graph problems arise in a number of situations (more often than you would think): file compilation order, network band-with, shortest path, etc. This library is an attempt to port the Boost Graph Library (BGL) from C++ to C#. ![]() This article presents a Generic Graph Library, 100% C#. ![]() There have been a lot of changes to the source code and the article below, since the first submission on December 8 th, 2020. It is this release of radiation that causes concern about the safety of radium and all other radioactive substances. Some of the radiation from radium is constantly being released into the environment. These levels are not expected to change with time. ![]() This would be about one part of radium in one trillion (1,000,000,000,000) parts of soil or rock. For example, a typical amount might be one picogram of radium per gram of soil or rock. Radium has been found at very low levels in soil, water, rocks, coal, plants, and food. It is formed when uranium and thorium (two other natural radioactive substances) decay (break down) in the environment. Radium is a naturally-occurring silvery white radioactive metal that can exist in several forms called isotopes. These factors include the dose (how much), the duration (how long), the route or pathway by which you are exposed (breathing, eating, drinking, or skin contact), the other chemicals to which you are exposed, and your individual characteristics such as age, sex, nutritional status, family traits, life style, and state of health. If you are exposed to a hazardous substance such as radium, several factors will determine whether harmful health effects will occur and what the type and severity of those health effects will be. Exposure can also occur by being near radioactive chemicals at concentrations that are found at hazardous waste sites or industrial accidents. You may be exposed to it in the environment by breathing, eating, or drinking substances containing the radioactive chemical or from skin contact with it. You can be exposed to a radioactive chemical when you come into contact with that chemical alone or with a substance that contains it. This emission, which is also called a release, does not always lead to exposure. When a radioactive chemical is released from a large area, such as an industrial plant, or from a container, such as a drum or bottle, it enters the environment as a radioactive chemical emission. The information is important for you because radium may cause harmful health effects and because these sites are potential or actual sources of human exposure to radium. As EPA evaluates more sites, the number of sites at which radium is found above background levels may change. However, we do not know how many of the 1,177 NPL sites have been evaluated for radium. Radium has been found above background levels at 18 of these sites. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has identified 1,177 sites on its National Priorities List (NPL).
